Tim ORourke established FinServ Consulting & Recruiting with the mission to be advocates for the retail investment services industry.
Tim is an industry expert in the recruiting arena including regulatory compliance, the transition process, business structures, various related contracts, negotiating financial packages and the evaluation of independent broker dealers and investment advisory custodians. He was formerly Senior Vice President of FSC Securities Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia and Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. in St. Petersburg, Florida with prior retail sales experience for a total of over 27 years of industry experience.
Tim started selling insurance door to door in 1981 and received his NASD series 7/63 licenses in 1983. He started as a retail NASD Registered Representative and was quickly a top producer before going into sales management. He also spent almost two years as the national sales manager for an insurance company based in St. Louis, Missouri. He started with Raymond James Financial in 1990 and later became the senior vice president of business development and recruiting for their Financial Institutions Division in the mid 90’s. After more than 13 years with Raymond James Financial, he moved to FSC Securities Corporation in 2004 as part of their senior management team and was responsible for all recruiting and transition services for the Atlanta based broker-dealer. He was also involved with mergers and acquisitions. All of this experience from sitting in the financial advisors’ seat, wholesaling, managing Recruiting at independent Broker-Dealers and similar M&A work is Tim’s foundation for assisting financial advisors. Over the years Tim has been involved with recruiting thousands of financial advisors and independent registered advisors and he has overseen many of their transitions. He has also consulted for many retail broker groups and individuals helping them brand, market and develop their business models.
Tim knows the independent and Wirehouse Broker Dealers and the Investment Advisory Custodians from his many years in business development, recruiting and M&A areas of the industry. He also consults for acquisitions of independent Broker Dealers as well.
